Problem :
Mainstream streaming has become expensive and frustrating. Prices keep climbing, plans are split into confusing tiers, the best features sit behind the highest tag, and ads now interrupt even paid subscriptions. On top of that, content gets shuffled between platforms, so users end up juggling multiple services just to watch what they want. There was a clear need for a streaming experience that flips this model: unlimited, personalized, genuinely ad-free, and offered at one honest price with no hidden costs. The goal behind Jetflix was to deliver a true alternative to Netflix and the other major platforms, built around the viewer instead of the billing department.
Solution :
Jetflix is a personal streaming app built on top of a self-hosted Jellyfin server, wrapped in a simple, good-looking, and fast interface that makes watching effortless. It pairs a sleek, intuitive UI with a high-performance streaming engine, so browsing, searching, and playback feel instant with no buffering and no endless menus. Users get unlimited movies and shows in stunning 4K Ultra HD with HDR, the ability to watch on unlimited devices, stream on up to four screens at once, and download titles to watch offline. Everything sits behind one flat, transparent price with no tiers, no add-ons, no ads, and no surprise fees, so the experience stays clean and predictable from sign-up to play.
Challenge :
The hardest part of the project was the streaming itself. Delivering smooth, high-quality video across phones, tablets, laptops, and TVs means handling transcoding, adaptive playback, and multiple simultaneous streams without the buffering and lag that ruin the experience. Building a personal front-end on top of Jellyfin required tying a custom, consumer-grade interface to a self-hosted backend while keeping playback fast and reliable, supporting 4K HDR, offline downloads, and resume-where-you-left-off across devices. Getting that streaming engine to feel instant and seamless, so a title starts the moment you press play, was the core technical challenge, and the thing that makes Jetflix actually feel like a polished, premium product rather than a hobby server.

It solves the cost, clutter, and ad fatigue of mainstream platforms with unlimited 4K content, multi-device support, offline viewing, and a fast, beautiful interface. The project demonstrates my ability to design and build a complete consumer product end to end, combining clean UI design with a demanding real-time streaming backend.
